The Advanced Certified ScrumMaster® (A-CSM) is for you if you have your CSM
and want to expedite the journey to greater agility on the Scrum Alliance Path to CSP. Unlike many, with our A-CSM
you learn with a group of peers in a live session.
The CSM introduced the basics, now go deeper into scaling, empiricism, coaching, soft-skills, root cause analysis, XP Engineering, and Kanban .
Your trainer has over 20 years agile experience so your challenges and opportunities are reviewed in a profound, but practical, way. This is in sharp contrast to superficial concepts delivered by inexperienced agile trainers.
After the session we register you with the Scrum Alliance. If you have more a year of agile work experience, have the CSM Cert, and complete this session, you achieve the A-CSM designation, and are one step away from CSP-SM.

Refund Policies
What happens if you can't attend
We try to avoid cancellations and expect you to be similarly respectful; so there are fees associated with cancellations to cover a portion of costs we incur, including credit card processing.
Grow-Lean has established policies around situations where you as an attendee, or Grow-Lean as a host, must cancel or reschedule. Grow-Lean's policies are significantly more consumer-friendly than most other training providers. We do this because we realize that unforeseen things happen, but we ask that you be thoughtful about canceling late so we can continue to put our customers first.

Cancellations
Cancellation requests received at least sixteen (16) days prior to the event will receive a 100% refund minus a 5% credit card processing fee.
Cancellation requests received fifteen (15) to eight (8) days prior to the event will receive a 100% refund minus a 5% credit card processing fee and a $125 late cancellation fee.
Cancellation requests received seven (7) or less days prior to the event will receive a credit equal to 50% of the amount paid that can be applied to any future event that the registrant will take in the next twelve months.
Reschedule Requests
Reschedule requests received at least sixteen (16) days prior to the event will have no fees for the first request. Additional reschedule requests will be subject to a $125 transfer fee.

Grow-Lean Reschedule Events
We try to avoid rescheduling. If Grow-Lean needs to reschedule, all registrants will promptly receive a 100% refund. Registrants may decide to be transferred into the rescheduled event, or another upcoming event, instead of the refund if they desire.

David Bulkin is a managing director and head of training services at Grow-Lean. He delivers the CSM, A-CSM and CSPO courses. He certified over 10,000 students with the Scrum Alliance. David's thought leadership in 2009 on progressive elaboration for agile requirements, influenced what is now known as refinement (entering Scrum in 2011). David has successfully applied agile to manufacturing, marketing, sales, finance, and other areas outside of IT. He was an independent reviewer of the original PMI-ACP body of knowledge that fed the creation of the PMI-ACP Exam and has worked on the exam questions for the Certified Scrum Master Exam. David’s broad background ensures you are getting up to date ideas to apply in your workplace.
David has 37 years of work experience, making him an old guy, but no worries, he has high energy and is up to date on modern technologies. David has been applying agile since he got his start in 2001 at JP Morgan Chase where Kent Beck, The Father of Extreme Programming (XP), and perhaps also Agile, was his coach. Via DevOps, XP techniques are growing in popularity today; David is in a good position to help you learn them.
As a hands-on practitioner David has had many roles including Project Manager, Coder, Tester, Business Analyst, Product Manager, Product Owner, and Scrum Master. David continues to build things, including the software serving up this web page, so, if it is broken, contact him.

A Bit About David From David
Hi,
I live on the East Coast of the US close to New Jersey and Philadelphia. I have one wife, two kids, and a cat. My older daughter is a in college, living away from home for the first time. My other daughter is high school. Like many, our family got a pet, in our case, a rescue cat, early in the pandemic. I miss being in session with students, but it has been nice to see my wife, kids and the cat!
I am known for high energy and keeping it fun, and personal, so, if you attend a session with me, you won't be bored.

- Internet connected Computer / Tablet: Many students use a single device for the session, others use two devices, perhaps their work laptop for the webcam and a separate device for sharing.

I live on the East Coast of the US close to New Jersey and Philadelphia. I have one wife, two kids, a cat, and a fish. My older daughter is a freshman in college, but living at home (saving us money). My other daughter is in middle school. Like many, our family got a pet, in our case, a rescue cat, early in the pandemic. I miss being in session with students, but it has been nice to see my wife, kids and pets!

However, the time flew by extremely fast. During the time I was in attendance for David's class, I did not think about the many boxes that were sitting around my new home waiting to be unpacked. That says a lot about David and his teaching style. I never actually saw David take a break during the class sessions. The students recognized David as an expert in his field and used their breaks to seek advice or gain more golden nuggets of wisdom from him. David is also a very positive person with great energy, which makes him extremely approachable. If possible, I will definitely take more of David's classes.

David was a fantastic facilitator. The two days flew by quickly and everyone was engaged in the conversation. David effectively used Mural to create fun activities and made sure everyone had a voice and participated. There was also enough humor to keep learning fun and interesting, but not enough to be a distraction. I would absolutely take another course with David and Grow-Lean. Overall, this was a wonderful experience.

Performing mini "case-studies" as we go through the material is extremely helpful in learning how to apply and see real world examples of Scrum implementation. The class had a TON of real world examples and really puts a lot of your current mindset into perspective. It gave me a handful off new tools and ideas I could apply to my job the very next day, in fact I actually did apply a few. David was really willing to go over something that I either had questions on or I was confused about. I could write a 5 paragraph essay about the parts I enjoyed but that is probably overkill. It was overall a really solid experience.

He utilized tools, such as Mural, very well with breakouts and activities. Although the class was 9-5, it had built in breaks and activities that kept us engaged without the meeting be a drain or feeling as though it was dragging on. The use of Mural was great; I had experience with Miro in the past and other whiteboards, but using Mural was an excellent way to get experience using a new tool. The course also discussed other tooling options and comparisons that we can use in our own daily processes.
