Grow-Lean’s CAL Essentials for Organization Leaders (CAL-E+O) program is for you if you are a leader looking to launch or enhance agility
at both the team and organizational level. It is taught by an experienced executive, who has worked with companies across the
private and public sectors since the genesis of the agile movement.
No question will be given vague treatment. Instead, using 20 years of transformation experience, we address your challenges and opportunities in a practical way.
Certified Agile Leadership Essentials (CAL-E) teaches how you, as an agile leader, ought to think, focus, and behave.
Certified Agile Leadership for Organizations (CAL-O) covers the knowledge, skills, and techniques to work toward sustainable agility.
There are discounts for registering early, alumni, groups, unemployed, students and veterans. Alumni Discounts
combine with everything. For unemployed / hardship a current state unemployment statement or separation letter is required.
We try to avoid cancellations and expect you to be similarly respectful; so there are fees associated with cancellations to cover a portion of costs we incur, including credit card processing.
Grow-Lean has established policies around situations where you as an attendee, or Grow-Lean as a host, must cancel or reschedule. Grow-Lean's policies are significantly more consumer-friendly than most other training providers. We do this because we realize that unforeseen things happen, but we ask that you be thoughtful about canceling late so we can continue to put our customers first.
By registering yourself or others for the session, or by being a registrant, you agree to the policies below. If you have any questions, please contact us.
Cancellation requests received at least sixteen (16) days prior to the event will receive a 100% refund minus a 5% credit card processing fee.
Cancellation requests received fifteen (15) to eight (8) days prior to the event will receive a 100% refund minus a 5% credit card processing fee and a $125 late cancellation fee.
Cancellation requests received seven (7) or less days prior to the event will receive a credit equal to 50% of the amount paid that can be applied to any future event that the registrant will take in the next twelve months.
Reschedule requests received at least sixteen (16) days prior to the event will have no fees for the first request. Additional reschedule requests will be subject to a $125 transfer fee.
Reschedule requests received less than sixteen (16) days prior to the event will be subject to a $125 transfer fee.
We try to avoid rescheduling. If Grow-Lean needs to reschedule, all registrants will promptly receive a 100% refund. Registrants may decide to be transferred into the rescheduled event, or another upcoming event, instead of the refund if they desire.

The Scrum Alliance’s Certified Agile Leadership program consists of three initial one-day workshops (CAL-E, CAL-T and CAL-O) followed by a validated experience certification (CAL-II). The workshops can be taken separately or in various combinations. This is a combined session, the CAL-E+O, that includes the CAL-E + CAL-O.
Grow-Lean’s CAL Essentials for Organization Leaders (CAL-E+O) program is perfect for leaders looking to launch or enhance agility at both the team and organizational level. It is taught by an experienced executive who has worked with companies across the private and public sectors since the genesis of the agile movement. No question will remain unanswered or given vague treatment in this class; with 20 years of real-world transformation experience we will discuss and address your real-world problems.
Certified Agile Leadership Essentials (CAL-E) teaches how agile leaders ought to think, focus, and behave. It covers why agile methods are necessary in today’s complex and ever-changing environment, what some of the leading methods are, how to drive change in an iterative and incremental fashion, and the leader’s role in driving agility throughout an organization.
Certified Agile Leadership Essentials (CAL-E) covers why agile methods are necessary in today’s complex and ever-changing environment, what some of the leading methods are, how to drive change in an iterative and incremental fashion, and the leader’s role in driving agility throughout an organization. It also dives into many common anti-patterns and challenges faced in the real-world, along with proven ways to address them.
Markets are increasingly volatile, unpredictable, complex, and ambiguous. Agile methods help respond to VUCA as they create short feedback loops to maximize learning, limit risk and increase return on investment.
Agile methods were created to deal with the need for adaptation without sacrificing quality in software development, but delivering great products and services requires end-to-end flow that extends beyond just technology silos and into other groups like marketing, sales and operations. Agile leaders help to drive better collaboration and coordination at an organizational level, which can dramatically improve product value and quality, delivery speed and employee engagement.
Agile leadership requires different approaches to planning, tracking, and managing work. Creating effective empirical feedback loops and a growth mindset are important to driving agility at scale.
The best leaders blend strong self-awareness, empathy for their employees and a nuanced understanding of the business and customer environment. This allows them to apply situational leadership where the right style depends on the context. They drive lasting change by helping teams to become properly self-organizing.
Creating an agile culture is an iterative and incremental process like that seen in agile methods themselves. Leaders play a fundamental role in modeling agile behaviors and creating a system in which experimentation and learning can be facilitated without undue risk to the business.
Basic agile teams are cross-functional, encapsulating dependencies to support strong ownership. speed, quality, and adaptability. Agile organizations effectively connect dependent business units in a way that optimizes the flow of value from planning through delivery and into operations.
Empirical approaches such as Scrum rely on rapidly delivering capabilities in a way that allows for quick learning and adaptation. Leaders play a critical part in enabling this through focused portfolio management, modular planning, and adaptive governance.
Be careful of the company you pick. With Grow-Lean everything is covered, including the certification fees, and a free class retake (within 120 days). You also receive additional discounts off of your next session, including the CAL-T (team).
There are no surprise costs when you register or accept your license and we have a user friendly transfer and cancellation policy.
