Refund Policies

What happens if you can't attend

We try to avoid cancellations and expect you to be similarly respectful; so there are fees associated with cancellations to cover a portion of costs we incur, including credit card processing.

Grow-Lean has established policies around situations where you as an attendee, or Grow-Lean as a host, must cancel or reschedule. Grow-Lean's policies are significantly more consumer-friendly than most other training providers. We do this because we realize that unforeseen things happen, but we ask that you be thoughtful about canceling late so we can continue to put our customers first.

By registering yourself or others for the session, or by being a registrant, you agree to the policies below. If you have any questions, please contact us.

Cancellations

Cancellation requests received at least sixteen (16) days prior to the event will receive a 100% refund minus a 5% credit card processing fee.

Cancellation requests received fifteen (15) to eight (8) days prior to the event will receive a 100% refund minus a 5% credit card processing fee and a $125 late cancellation fee.

Cancellation requests received seven (7) or less days prior to the event will receive a credit equal to 50% of the amount paid that can be applied to any future event that the registrant will take in the next twelve months.

Reschedule Requests

Reschedule requests received at least sixteen (16) days prior to the event will have no fees for the first request. Additional reschedule requests will be subject to a $125 transfer fee.

Reschedule requests received less than sixteen (16) days prior to the event will be subject to a $125 transfer fee.

Grow-Lean Reschedule Events

We try to avoid rescheduling. If Grow-Lean needs to reschedule, all registrants will promptly receive a 100% refund. Registrants may decide to be transferred into the rescheduled event, or another upcoming event, instead of the refund if they desire.

Discounts

Options for your circumstances

Request your Grow-Lean discount on the class you want. If more than one discount applies explain in your comments.

For Grow-Lean Alumni, log in or use your account email when registering, and receive an automatic discount. If you also qualify for another discount, request it, and as long as your email matches we know you are an alumni.

You can pay in up to 12 installments by choosing Splitit at checkout.

After entering your request you may email us at Grow-Lean-Training@Grow-Lean.Com or call us +1.609.975.9294 for questions.

If you have a Visa or Mastercard credit card you can pay in up to 12 monthly installments. There are no fees or interest if you pay on time! Your available credit must be enough to cover the full cost and there is a hold on your credit card for the amount that you have not paid.

For example, if your final fee is $1,000 and you chose 10 installments:

  • You would pay $100 today and have a $900 hold placed on your credit card.
  • The following month your credit card would be charged another $100 and the hold would be reduced to $800.
  • Each month you pay $100 and each month the hold is reduced by $100.

If you are not familiar with the term "hold" this is similar to what hotels do when you check in, to cover extra expenses you may incur including the mini bar.

The benefit to you is that you do not pay any interest or fees if all payments are on time.

What You Learn

Session Agenda.

The Role of the Product Owner in its many forms:
The theory of the role doesn't always match the reality of your authority and constraints. Learn how to make the most of your position based upon the type of business you’re in, the products or services that you helm, the life-cycle in which those products exist, your organization’s maturity and more.

Advanced stakeholder and customer engagement:
Product Owners hear a lot about “saying no” an appropriate thought given that much of their job boils down to scope management with perspective, but this is much easier said than done. Work through a variety of real-world situations that veer from the ideal and learn how you can work most effectively with stakeholders and customers in you unique context.

Launching new Scrum teams and projects:
Learn how to rapidly but thoughtfully kick off a new team or new engagement, considering how to properly align roles, create a basis for appropriate collaboration between the team and stakeholders, and communicate a compelling vision along with practical means to measure progress against it.

Scaling to larger projects:
Explore how and when to apply multiple teams against a common goal with a coherent backlog, intelligent dependency management and proper synchronization… without falling into a host of common traps.

Designing and communicating product strategy:
Practice crafting and comparing business models, creating targeted experiments, and prioritizing opportunities by value, time and economic impact.

Advanced backlog and release management:
Delve into a variety of techniques for prioritizing the backlog in tricky situations, creating long-term road-maps without sacrificing adaptability, optimizing release strategies and demonstrating return on investment for agile efforts.

Don't let your voice get drowned-out in a large 50 person class.

Address Myths that Hold You Back

Unicorns are beautiful, but not real. Don't be fooled by seemingly believable agile myths.

We address common PO misconceptions, including:

Myth: "As a, I want to, So that" is the only format for PBIs.

Facts:

  • There are many equally valid formats for writing stories.
  • Use what works in your context.

Myth: You should collect and clarify customer requirements, then hand-off details to the developers.

Facts:

  • Getting stuck in the weeds and micro managing the developers means you have no time for strategy.
  • Instead, help customers, users, SMEs and developers collaborate to refine the details.

Myth: Going live is risky so only do it rarely.

Facts:

  • Infrequent releases means big releases and less learning.
  • Frequent smaller releases mean less risk & more learning.
