Policies

Grow-Lean has policies to protect you, fellow students and Grow-Lean.

Familiarize yourself with these policies and use our Contact Us Form if you have any questions.

Cancellation and Rescheduling Policies

Overview of Cancellation Policies

Grow-Lean has policies around situations where you as an attendee, or Grow-Lean as a host, must cancel or reschedule. Grow-Lean's policies are consumer-friendly in recognition that unforeseen things happen, but Grow-Lean asks for thoughtfulness about canceling late so Grow-Lean can continue to put their customers first.

By registering yourself or others for the session, or by being a registrant, you agree to the policies below. If you have any questions, please contact Grow-Lean.

Cancellations

Cancellation requests received at least sixteen (16) days prior to the event will receive a 100% refund minus a 5% credit card processing fee.

Cancellation requests received fifteen (15) to eight (8) days prior to the event will receive a 100% refund minus a 5% credit card processing fee and a $125 late cancellation fee.

Cancellation requests received seven (7) or less days prior to the event will receive a credit equal to 50% of the amount paid that can be applied to any future event that the registrant will take in the next twelve months.

Reschedule Requests

Reschedule requests received at least sixteen (16) days prior to the event will have no fees for the first request. Additional reschedule requests will be subject to a $125 transfer fee.

Reschedule requests received less than sixteen (16) days prior to the event will be subject to a $125 transfer fee.

Grow-Lean Reschedule Events

Grow-Lean tries to avoid rescheduling. If Grow-Lean needs to reschedule, all registrants will promptly receive a 100% refund. Registrants may decide to be transferred into the rescheduled event, or another upcoming event, instead of the refund if they desire.

Grow-Lean Trainer Substitution

In the event where the original listed trainer cannot deliver the course, Grow-Lean reserves the right to substitute a trainer. This is a rare occurrence, but this policy allows Grow-Lean to deliver a course while minimizing the student impact. Trainers provided in this event will have met Grow-Lean's high quality standards to ensure registrants receive valuable training.

Session Attendance and Participation Policies

Session Policy Summary

Grow-Lean policies around class (session) participation and course material usage are designed to protect your privacy, the privacy of other students, the intellectual property rights of Grow-Lean LLC, and to maximize the learning outcome for all. If your camera is not functioning, or your bandwidth becomes too limited to support video, you will inform the trainer and participate actively to ensure you stay engaged in the session.

If there is a specific reason why you cannot be on camera, contact Grow-Lean LLC prior to the event so that we can make an exception.

Picture Taking

Grow-Lean will sometimes take pictures or videos during the session. Attendees will be notified in advance. You authorize Grow-Lean to share your name and email with the certifying body, which, depending on the session, is typically the Scrum Alliance, Scaled Agile or IC Agile.

  • Grow-Lean recommends that you use your personal email address instead of your work email when registering for training.
  • This ensures that you will always have access to your account and certifications while also protecting the privacy of your organization.

Discounts

Options for your circumstances

Request your discount on the session (a class on date/time with a trainer) you want. If more than one discount applies explain in your comments.

You can pay in installments by choosing Splitit at checkout.

For Grow-Lean Alumni, log in or use your account email when registering, and receive an automatic discount. If you also qualify for another discount, request it, and, if your email matches, we know you are an alumni.

If you have a Visa or Mastercard credit card you can pay in monthly installments. There are no fees or interest if you pay on time! Your available credit must be enough to cover the full cost and there is a hold on your credit card for the amount that you have not paid.

For example, if your final fee is $999 and you choose three installments:

  • You would pay $333 today and have a $666 hold placed on your credit card.
  • The following month your credit card would be charged another $333 and the hold would be reduced to $333.
  • Your final payment would be $333.

If you are not familiar with the term "hold" this is similar to what hotels do when you check in, to cover extra expenses you may incur including the mini bar.

The benefit to you is that you do not pay any interest or fees if all payments are on time.

After entering your request you may email us at [email protected] or call us +1.609.975.9294 for questions.

  • Computer or tablet with internet: Most participants use one device (laptop with webcam). Some prefer two devices. One for video and another for viewing shared materials.
  • Webcam: Nearly all laptops have built-in webcams. If yours doesn't, you can use your phone as a webcam.
  • Audio: Headset, earbuds, or your device's built-in microphone and speakers all work fine.
  • Zoom access: New to Zoom? Test your setup at zoom.us/test. Click "Join" and follow the prompts. Need help? See Zoom's test meeting guide.
  • A comfortable space: Find a spot where you can focus during class. Ideally with:
    • Good lighting
    • Minimal background noise
    • Limited interruptions

Don't stress about perfection! We understand that kids, pets, family members, or roommates may make appearances. It's all part of remote learning.

  • Practice with Miro: Miro is a virtual white board.
    • If you are not experienced with Miro, please prepare using the information below.
    • Because there are sometimes browser configurations that restrict use, please consider downloading the Miro client for your device at: https://miro.com/apps/.

Agenda

Four-hour core, plus a 45-minute bonus lab.
Accelerate product development with AI.

1
Keeping Humans in the Loop
  • Decide where AI belongs in Scrum Master work and where human judgment must stay in the loop.
  • Build practical guardrails for team data, privacy, bias, transparency, and hallucination risk.
  • Separate AI-supported tasks from facilitation, coaching, trust, and protecting Scrum accountabilities.
2
Writing Better Prompts
  • Use role, context, examples, constraints, and critique patterns to get sharper AI output.
  • Run Scrum Master scenarios through GenAI, then inspect the output like a coach.
  • Build a reusable prompt library for event preparation, impediment analysis, retros, and coaching questions.
3
Strengthening Discovery
  • Use AI to support product discovery conversations alongside the team and the Product Owner.
  • Generate alternative options, assumptions, and risks to test with stakeholders and customers.
  • Pressure-test discovery output for bias, missing context, and hallucination before acting on it.
4
Help Your PO Refine the Backlog
  • Use AI to clarify, split, and sharpen Product Backlog items before they enter the Sprint.
  • Improve acceptance criteria, examples, and edge cases without taking the PO's accountability away.
  • Surface dependencies, risks, and refinement questions earlier in the team conversation.
5
Preparing Sprint Planning
  • Use AI to prepare Sprint Planning inputs: forecast signals, capacity considerations, and risk flags.
  • Draft a Sprint Goal candidate and a why-it-matters narrative for the team to refine and own.
  • Help the team produce a clearer plan without replacing the team's planning decisions.
6
Focusing the Daily Scrum
  • Use AI to keep the Daily Scrum focused on the Sprint Goal, impediments, and the next 24 hours.
  • Summarize trends across days so the team sees patterns without turning the event into a status meeting.
  • Avoid AI patterns that erode self-management or replace direct team conversation.
7
Improving Sprint Reviews
  • Use AI to prepare a stronger stakeholder conversation: increment context, decisions, and open questions.
  • Draft demo narratives, talking points, and follow-up summaries the team can review and own.
  • Capture stakeholder feedback into clear, actionable signals for the Product Backlog.
8
Strengthening Retrospectives
  • Use AI to prepare retro topics, summarize Sprint signals, and surface candidate improvement experiments.
  • Run AI-supported retro formats that protect psychological safety and the human conversation.
  • Convert retro outcomes into clear experiments with owners, hypotheses, and check-in points.
9
Inspecting Sprint Signals
  • Use AI to review in-Sprint signals: progress toward the Sprint Goal, risks, blockers, and team health.
  • Inspect team metrics and forecasting with AI without confusing measurement with management.
  • Spot patterns and propose adjustments the team can choose to act on.
10
Accelerating Product Development
  • Explore how AI is changing how we develop products, whether they are software or hardware.
  • Apply patterns from the core sections to a real challenge from your own team or product.
  • Get peer review and trainer coaching, and leave with a personal Scrum Master AI toolkit you can use immediately.

+ 45 MIN BONUS
In the bonus time, we will go over your real-world issues and concerns, using the patterns from class to explore practical next steps for your team and context.

What Sets This Apart

A live Scrum Master workshop driven by AI.

Not an AI tutorial dressed up as a Scrum Master course.
Practical & Real
Real-world AI for Scrum Masters, not theory or a tour of generic tools. We work from the situations Scrum Masters actually face: unclear goals, difficult team dynamics, weak feedback loops, organizational friction, stalled improvement work, and Scrum events that need better preparation and follow-through.
Bonus Time
The bonus time gives you room to bring the class back to your own environment. We work through real issues from participants, apply the patterns from class, and identify practical next steps for your team rather than stopping at canned examples.
Tailored to ScrumMaster Role
AI is framed as support for facilitation, coaching, transparency, impediment removal, event preparation, and continuous improvement, while the Scrum Master stays accountable for judgment, ethics, trust, and the human conversations that make Scrum work.

Earning Your Certification

The Scrum Alliance AI for ScrumMasters microcredential

AI for ScrumMasters Logo
