AI for Scrum Masters (AISM) Testimonials

Welcome AI to the agile team while keeping Scrum Master judgment, ethics, and facilitation intact.

Key Details

AI for Scrum Masters is a live, instructor-led workshop for Scrum Masters and agile team leaders who want practical ways to use generative AI without turning team leadership into automation theater. It is aligned to the Scrum Alliance AI for Scrum Masters microcredential and shaped for Grow-Lean's hands-on style.

AI for Scrum Masters

Generative AI can help Scrum Masters prepare better conversations, improve team communication, identify risks, review metrics, and design experiments for team improvement. It cannot replace the human work of reading the room, building trust, coaching people, or protecting Scrum accountabilities.

In this workshop, you use AI as a co-pilot for real Scrum Master work: improving Scrum events, summarizing decisions, preparing coaching questions, exploring team health signals, and creating a responsible personal AI toolkit.

A four-hour core workshop with an optional one-hour bonus lab. The core earns the microcredential; the bonus lab gives you supported practice against real team scenarios.

Live and instructor-led. No exam. Earn a non-expiring Scrum Alliance AISM microcredential and claim SEUs.

Quick Facts
  • Format: Live, instructor-led (not on-demand)
  • Length: 4-hour core workshop + 1-hour bonus session (5 hours total)
  • Credential: Scrum Alliance AI for Scrum Masters microcredential, no exam
  • Credits: SEUs (and PDUs where applicable)
  • Audience: Scrum Masters, Agile Coaches, Delivery Leads, Project Managers, Team Managers
  • Bring: a real team challenge, event, metric, or improvement goal

Who Should Attend?

Who Should Attend?

This class is for people who help agile teams improve and want to use AI responsibly in that work.

  • Scrum Masters of all experience levels
  • CSM, A-CSM, and CSP-SM alumni who want applied AI practice
  • Agile Coaches, Delivery Leads, Project Managers, and Team Managers
  • Product Owners and team members who support team effectiveness

You do not need to be an AI expert. Basic Scrum familiarity is useful because the exercises assume you understand Scrum events, accountabilities, artifacts, and team improvement work.

Training Discounts

A variety of discounts to fit your situation.

Request your discount on the session (a class on date/time with a trainer) you want. If more than one discount applies explain in your comments.

You can pay in installments by choosing Splitit at checkout.

For Grow-Lean Alumni, log in or use your account email when registering, and receive an automatic discount. If you also qualify for another discount, request it, and, if your email matches, we know you are an alumni.

If you have a Visa or Mastercard credit card you can pay in monthly installments. There are no fees or interest if you pay on time! Your available credit must be enough to cover the full cost and there is a hold on your credit card for the amount that you have not paid.

For example, if your final fee is $999 and you choose three installments:

  • You would pay $333 today and have a $666 hold placed on your credit card.
  • The following month your credit card would be charged another $333 and the hold would be reduced to $333.
  • Your final payment would be $333.

If you are not familiar with the term "hold" this is similar to what hotels do when you check in, to cover extra expenses you may incur including the mini bar.

The benefit to you is that you do not pay any interest or fees if all payments are on time.

Agenda

Five Scrum Alliance-aligned modules in the four-hour core, plus a one-hour Scrum Master prompt and team-improvement lab.
The core workshop follows the AISM learning themes from Scrum Alliance: responsible AI collaboration, everyday AI tools, communication and collaboration, data-driven team management, and a Scrum Master prompt engineering lab.

1. Responsible Human and AI Collaboration

  • Decide where AI belongs in Scrum Master work and where it does not.
  • Separate AI-supported tasks from the human work of facilitation, coaching, trust, and judgment.
  • Create a practical guardrail checklist for team data, privacy, bias, and transparency.

2. Everyday AI Tools for Scrum Teams

  • Use AI to prepare, facilitate, and follow up on Scrum events without replacing team interaction.
  • Explore AI support for meetings, collaboration, backlog conversations, and retrospectives.
  • Evaluate tools such as ChatGPT, Gemini, Otter.ai, Jira AI, Asana AI, and similar workflow assistants.

3. AI-Powered Communication and Collaboration

  • Draft clearer team updates, decision records, follow-up notes, and stakeholder messages.
  • Use AI to improve transparency while keeping important conversations owned by people.
  • Practice prompts that turn messy meeting notes into action, risks, questions, and next experiments.

4. Data-Driven Team Management

  • Review team metrics and team health signals without confusing measurement with management.
  • Use AI to identify patterns, risks, sentiment signals, and possible improvement experiments.
  • Tailor AI to your team's context, vocabulary, working agreements, and improvement goals.

5. Prompt Engineering Lab for Scrum Masters

  • Use role, context, examples, constraints, and critique prompts to improve AI output.
  • Complete Scrum Master scenarios using GenAI, then inspect the output like a coach.
  • Build a reusable prompt library for event preparation, impediment analysis, retrospectives, and coaching questions.

Bonus Hour: Team Improvement Lab

Optional one-hour session immediately after the four-hour core workshop.

  • Bring one real team challenge and use AI to prepare a better next conversation.
  • Get peer review and trainer coaching on prompts, outputs, and ethical boundaries.
  • Leave with a personal AI toolkit for Scrum Master work you can use immediately.

Course Prerequisites

Set up an AI account before class so you can participate fully

Please set up your account before class.

Note that free accounts may have limits that can change at any time.

While we cannot guarantee that your interactions won't be throttled during the lab, you can start with a free account and upgrade to a paid plan for a month if throttling becomes an issue.

What Sets This Apart

A live Scrum Master workshop with AI practice, not a generic AI overview

Scrum Masters already work in ambiguity: team dynamics, organizational friction, unclear goals, weak feedback loops, and difficult conversations. This class uses AI to make that work more visible and easier to prepare for, while keeping the Scrum Master accountable for the human parts of the role.

You leave with draft prompts, a responsible-use checklist, AI-assisted facilitation patterns, and outputs tied to a real team challenge instead of generic examples.

Scrum Master experience comes first, AI second. The goal is better facilitation, coaching, transparency, and continuous improvement.

Earning Your Certification

The Scrum Alliance AI for Scrum Masters (AISM) microcredential

AI for Scrum Masters Logo

There is no examination required to earn the AI for Scrum Masters microcredential. Participating in the live session earns the credential. Grow-Lean covers the credentialing fee.

The AI for Scrum Masters badge does not expire and pairs naturally with CSM, A-CSM, or CSP-SM credentials by showing applied AI capability in service of team effectiveness.

Beyond the badge, the deeper benefit is leaving with a working Scrum Master AI toolkit: prompt patterns, responsible-use guardrails, event support, team-health review patterns, and practical coaching aids.
